In theory yes I'd have to agree on the long-term money saving idea of prisoner education. Sadly when put to practice, the results may be a little less abundant. Being a bail bonds agent in Las Vegas who is a supporter of our local prison reentry non profit organization, skills training alone and education are just a portion of the necessities required for success.

In a perfect world, an instruction can help take care of this issue: A secondary school and school confirmation make it simpler for detainees to discover an occupation, so they won't need to swing to wrongdoing to bring home the bacon once they're out of jail.

We pay more taxes to keep people in prisons than we pay to educate children. To enable the ex offenders to become tax payers, we need to build more infrastructure with programs that help to prepare them for successful reentry. Statistics show there is less recidivism when inmates receive education and get some assistance for workforce development.
